We’re Doing a Thing!

We’ve saved our airline miles, renewed our passports, and left our jobs all in pursuit of a long-held dream to become nearly full-time travelers.

    Why now?

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines! Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover!

With each passing year, the prospect of waiting until a “normal” retirement age to travel, volunteer, and engage in personally meaningful work seemed less tenable. A pandemic. Floods. Wildfires. Rising temperatures. Unexpected illness and even untimely death. Tomorrow is not promised and so we decided to take action, and in a pretty dramatic way. This was a big, and at times scary decision, but the right one for us and we are beyond excited about what the future holds.

    Where are we going?

We have plans to visit many places that are new to us, but also others that are favorites we keep coming back to time and again.

While not exhaustive, here are some of experiences we are super pumped about!

      • Learning to pour the perfect pint of Guinness in Ireland
      • Taking a pasta making class in Italy
      • Hiking, biking, and cruising the fjords of Norway
      • Mario Karting in Japan (and eating all the ramen and all the sushi)
      • Becoming 46ers in the Adirondacks
      • Long-tail boat rides and beach sunsets in Thailand
      • Hiking rim-to-rim in the Grand Canyon
      • Hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia, Turkey
      • Exploring the ancient Greek ruins
      • An epic road trip to the Pacific Northwest to visit more national parks
      • Snorkeling in Fiji
      • Walking through the urban gardens of Singapore
      • All the adventures in New Zealand we didn’t get to the first time
